Coffee, cake and friendship!

Last Saturday I had a busy day eating cake, drinking coffee and making new friends.  I was at the launch of two new togetherfriends events - a coffee morning at a great little café called Slingsby's in the heart of Harrogate, and afternoon tea at Tropical World café in Roundhay Park, Leeds.  Both events were set up to bring togetherfriends members together from the local area and to tell other women who wanted to broaden their social circle about togetherfriends.

The events were a great success, as you can see from the photo.

Women came to Harrogate from the town itself, Knaresborough, Ilkley, Leeds and Bingley.  As well as an opportunity to meet new people, some members made a day of it, with a spot of shopping and lunch out as well.   Three members came along together, having made friends via the site and using the socials as a reason for a trip out.

In Leeds members came from local areas Alwoodley, Adel, Meanwood, Headingley and Chapel Allerton. They had a lot in common so were able to chat about the best places to eat, walk and go to the cinema as well as to talk about their families, jobs and interests.

The socials in Harrogate and Leeds were only the start in these areas.  Regular coffee mornings have now been set up for paid up members of togetherfriends. If you prefer meeting others in a group rather than one to one, it is an ideal way to get to know other women who live nearby.    In Ilkley, York and Northallerton the regular coffee mornings have led to lunches, theatre trips and a supper club, all set up by the members themselves at times that suit them.

It is great to be able to bring women together in this way, and my hope and aim is to introduce similar events around the country.

If you would like to meet others' with similar interests who live nearby, join us on the togetherfriends journey!
