togetherfriends members meet up for coffee and art....
Another togetherfriends coffee morning took place this morning, this time in the lovely Salts Mill in Saltaire - an iconic venue in itself with so much history and atmosphere. For those who don't know it, it's an old textile mill which is now converted into a wonderful complex with a huge Hockney gallery, cafes and lots of shops selling books, handmade jewellery, outdoor gear, cookery implements and textiles. Orchestral music plays as you browse around and it is the perfect place for a trip out in West Yorkshire.
This morning it was the meeting place of togetherfriends, and a group of seven members met for coffee and to view the new 'Arrival of Spring' Hockney exhibition, fascinating in itself as he painted the pictures on his IPad.
It was so lovely to meet togetherfriends members and to introduce ourselves to each other. It was such a friendly, informal atmosphere with lots of chat about lifestyle, families, jobs and what togetherfriends can offer in the future. There was talk of a bird watching trip, a burlesque evening and an 'at home' where members are invited to a home for coffee and cakes! Everyone was so keen to meet again and arrange lots of interesting events and I was delighted that members are so open to making new friends and broadening their social group.
